Gyeonggi Province's Medical Training Program Attracts Southeast Asian Medical Personnel

Gyeonggi Province’s medical training program is leading the medical Korean wave in Southeast Asia.
Recently, the 2017 Vietnam-Indonesia Medical Personnel Training Completion Ceremony was held to celebrate the successful completion of the 4-week training program for Southeast Asian medical personnel that had started in October.

The ceremony was held at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex and consisted of the presentation of certificates and a commendation to the most outstanding participant, a training process briefing, feedback on the training, and the taking of commemorative photographs.

The winner of the commendation was Sujiharto Purnomo, a surgeon at Husada Hospital in Indonesia.

The training program was attended by doctors from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam for the first time, which followed the establishment of a healthcare cooperation network between the two regions and the promotion of the brand image of Gyeonggi Medical through the visit of the provincial healthcare and medical delegation to Ho Chi Minh.

The medical training program of Gyeonggi Province has provided training to 459 medical personnel from 10 countries since 2011 as part of a project to build trust in local healthcare and promote medical exchanges through cooperation across local governments in healthcare. The program boasts a high satisfaction level of participants and is attracting an increasingly larger number of medical personnel.

In particular, this year’s training program included field trips to medical industry facilities (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics) as well as the introduction of Korean medical technologies and systems. The field trips are expected to raise participants’ confidence in Korean medical products by providing them with opportunities to experience facilities that are leading Korea’s medical industry.
