The Korea Comics Museum is the first to exclusively feature comics in Korea, and has been expanded and moved to be reborn as the Museum “Comics Kyujanggak.” Museum “Comics Kyujanggak” is now in the Bucheon Movie Cultural Complex, and showcases a number of comics related materials from the 1900s to the latest works that are familiar to today’s children.

Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park is a beautiful spot where you can feel the sentiment of an old salt farm in a unique basin wetland, the only one of it’s kind in Gyeonggi-do. It appears that the ecosystem is well maintained here as it is inhabited by diverse salt plants and diverse amphibian animals like sand crabs and many different fish.
In order to preserve the ecosystem of this singular basin wetland and its rare animals and plants, Siheung City plans to develop the area into a representative eco-tour course by building an Ecological Park by 2010, which will connect the seashore and inland.

Saenggeumjib is a residence where 12 generations of the Geumnyeong Kim family lived in. Although reconstructed in 2005, they tried to keep as much of the original state as possible, the original house was built in 1913. This house is a great representation of the typical household in the area. It shows how a family living near the sea made their living and what their standards of living were.

Over 500 Years of Old Lotus Land

Gwangokji cherishes a legend that Hi-maeng Kang, a noted official and scholar suring the early Chosun dynasty, started cultivating lotus by bringing in lotus flower seeds from Nanjing, China he visited in 1463 (9th year of King Sejo reign) by envoy.

To cherish the symbolic and historic value of Gwangokji, Siheung City built the Lotus Theme Park on a 10 ha wide land. Promenades and bike routes have been built along the perimeter making access easy for people. Lotus flowers start blooming in mid July and reach full blossom in mid to late August, but they are enjoyed till mid to late September.

Introduction  

The Mok-A Buddhist Museum houses the Intangible Cultural Property No. 108. The collection of over 6,000 Buddhist relics are collected by Mok-A Park Chan-su. The three-stories museum (3 floors on the ground and 1 floor on the under) displays Buddhist paintings, statues and other Buddhist relics and crafts. Outside there is a sculpture park complete with Buddhist sculptures and statues. Of the artifacts on display at the museum, three are national treasures. The majority of the other items are those that have been handed down in various temples throughout the country for many years. Despite your religion or beliefs, the museum offers you the opportunity to witness traditional culture.

Introduction 

The Korea National Arboretum (KNA) is situated in Gwangneung forest and contains the Forest Museum where all the information on forestry is exhibited. The construction of the arboretum and museum took place on October 25, 1985 and opened on April 5, 1987. In order to preserve the forests, weekends and holiday entrance were restricted, reservations were required 5 days in advance, and no more than 5,000 visitors were accepted per day. As diverse plants are gaining recognition worldwide, the research department formed the Office of Forestry on May 24, 1999. 

Korea National Arboretum covers an area of 1,157㏊ and contains 15 specialized forests, including Conifer Garden, the Garden of Ornamental Trees, and the Aroma and Touch Garden. The Forest Museum is the largest in Asia, covering 4628 sq.m² with a traditional Korean design, and the interior and exterior are both constructed of wood and stone. The arboretum facilities consist of 5 exhibition halls (Living Forest, Forest and Man, Forestry of the World, Forestry of Korea, Nature of Korea), a Herbarium, a Special Exhibition Room, and an Audio Visual Hall.

It is a national educational institution for local residents that produced many Confucian scholars since it was established during the era of King Injo. Memorial services for ancient sages from China and Joseon in addition to regional Confucian scholars were held. It was destroyed in 1592 during (the 25th year of King Seonjo) Imjinwaeran and rebuilt in 1610 (the 1st year of Gwanghaegun) before being burned down during the Korean War and restored by the Confucians in 1958. In terms of the arrangement of the arc hitecture, Myeongryundang where one studies is next to Waesammun and Daeseongjeon and Dongmu where memorial services are held are inside Naesammun. 
Daeseonqjeon has 3 rooms each in the front and in the side, and it has a gable roof. There are memorial tablets for Confucius and four greatest Chinese sages inside in addition to Dongmu and Seomu, respectively, on the left and right side of Daeseongjeon Myeongryundang has 5 rooms in the front and 2 rooms in the side. It has a hipped and gabled roof. Currently, education is not provided any longer, and only memorial services are held. Religious rites are held every spring and autumn.

Introduction 

Located in Icheon City, Gyeonggi-do, the Pig Museum is the first of its kind in Asia. Village chief and an expert of pig artificial insemination Lee Jong-yeong founded the museum in November 14, 2011. Some 5,000 pig-related articles from 18 different countries are on exhibit.
