An unusual fashion show took place in Gyeonggi Province which focusedon the trendy dresses but on the models themselves.
Instead of professional models, the models for this show were members of ordinary families, each with a heartwarming story of childbirth.

An older couple appears nervous when they walk down the runway. Their awkward walk, however, reflects the humble-yet-dramatic journey of their lives. Flankedtheir sonhis family, the man reads a message to his wife that he never had the nerve to say in person.

His son, Jeong Hae-doo (정해두), decided to participate in this event for his father, who has been fighting cancer since last year.

This fashion show was organizedGyeonggi Province to publically promote the values of childbirth.
4) 22 Families Participated
Formerly known as the Gyeonggi D-line Moms’ Fashion Show, this annual event was expanded to includefamily members.
There was a D-line mother who succeeded in becoming pregnant after eight years of heartbreaking disappointment, as well as multicultural familiesthe families of North Korean defectors.
The family of Gang Jeong-sook (강정숙), who exhibited semi-professional walking,another family consisting of four generations received the greatest applause.

“We organized this fashion to communicate to the public that our low birth rate isjust an issue for mothers, but one that concernsmembers of the public.”
The Gyeonggi Provincial Government also plans to hold a number of other childbirth promotion events such as a nursery rhyme contestan animation show.
Article 2. Chinese Steel Plant Begins Operation in Hwaseong City (1001)

A Chinese national steel companycollaborating Korean company completed construction of a steel plant in Hwaseong (화성) City. Itconsidered a successful case of cooperation between a large companya medium enterprise.

From October this year,seniors aged 65 years or older will receive influenza vaccinations free of charge. Public health centers began the free vaccination service in time for the coming flu season.

The Gyeonggi Children’s Museum marks only its second anniversary this year.
2) More Than 2,000 Visitors Daily
However, the number of visitors it received exceeded the 100,000 mark in just 43 days. So far, there were more than 2,000 visitors a day.

“Our children just love to come here. They have eye-level programs even for 3-4 year olds,these programs are changingthe time. This museumalso popular among parents, ifmore so.”

The Gyeonggi Province Fire Services recently strengthened the role of its Special Judicial Fire Policeempowering them with upgraded authority.

With the new authority, the Fire Police now have an independent right to conduct crackdowns on fire code violationsinvestigate fire sites for arson.
More than 200 Fire Police Officers are currently working in Gyeonggi Province, safeguarding the livesproperty of residents.
2) More Power for Fire Code Enforcement
The strengthening of the power of the Fire Police came after a number of recent incidents in which the enforcement of the fire code was hampereda lack of authority.
3) Legal Advisory Team for Special Judicial Police to Be Established
To ensure that the Fire Police have the necessary legal basis for their activities, a legal advisory team will also be established.
The Fire Police will then crackdown on fire code violations starting with sites of higher fire risk such as gas stationslarger supermarkets.

The provincial government will continuously developimplement more substantial senior welfare programs to keep up with the needs of an aging society.
