The seventh international ceramics exhibition of Gyeonggi Province, ‘The Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale 2013’, or GICB,scheduled toon September 28th. A GTV reporter examined the preparations.

In Icheon (이천) Cerapia, the venue for this international event, the preparation workin full swing.
2) Special Exhibition ‘HOT Rookies’
This year’s event includes a special exhibition for 20 promising young artists under the age of 40eight countries.
Therea range of artworks combining naturalartificial beauty including that of a Korean artist, a Turkish Dadaistic woman artist, as well as a guest artistNorway.
3) International Prize of GICB 2013
The main exhibition adopts a new concept of ‘invitational competition’, featuring 27 established ceramic artists18 countries who have been recommendedthe international tee members of GICB 2013.
These artists represent Asia, Africa, Oceania, Europethe Americas.
While the ceramic pieces da Japanese artist depict social issues in a comic design, the works of Korean artists express the life of woman using camellia flowers as a motif.
4) Experience Programs for Children

There are an increasing number of foreigners visiting Korea to seek medical treatment.
To address the increasing demand for medical coordinators for these visitors,to provide women in multicultural families with an employment opportunity, ‘The Gyeonggi Provincial Administration’ has begun training programs.

Article 3. Fake Automobile Fuel Cases ReducedHalf (0904-2)

Since the ‘Gyeonggi Provincial Administration’ began operating the ‘Free Automobile Fuel Analysis Service’ last year to uncover the distributors of fake fuel, the number of the cases of disclosure has reducedhalf.

One of the offenders even used a remote control to manipulate the injection valve to shift to normal fuel during crackdown.
4) Free Automobile Fuel Analysis Service Reduced Fake Fuel Cases
Once the fuela car was found to be abnormal during the free analysis, the dealer could be traced, which effectively prevented illegal practices.

The ‘Gyeonggi Cactus Festival’ was held for seven days runningAugust 30th in Goyang (고양) City, the largest cactus exporter in the world. A GTV reporter was there.

‘The Hwajeong Station Plaza’filled with cactus plants ofshapessizes displayed in artificial moundswhite canopied booths. More than a hundred breeds decorated the plaza drawing the interest of citizens.

During the festival month, no cars are allowed within the designated areas including small alleys, except for eco-friendly transportation.

“People will actually live without fossil fuel for one month. They will also record their everyday life. In doing so, we will pioneer trying to live without fossil fuelbecome a model society for the world.”
People in Suwon (수원) are pioneering for a future life without fossil fuels,preparing for a changed life style. Suwon will probably become the first eco-friendly city.

As the harvesting season approaches, farmers in Korea are busier than ever. By renting farming machines, farmers can save on the cost of machineslabor performing their work efficiently.

Ji (지) could rent an underground crop harvesting machine that cost millions of Korean won for merely twenty thousand won per daya farm machine center in Icheon (이천).

“Ittoo expensive for an individual farm house to own the machine, but the rental service allows us to use the machine for only a fraction of the cost, saving us a lot of expenses. So (It’s wonderful).”
