Hak-kyu Sohn, governor of Gyeonggi Province visited the Barcelona Port on the 26th 16:00 (local time) and was briefed about the port facilities. After the briefing, Sohn contracted an agreement with Joaquim Tosas, President of the Barcelona Port Authority, on cooperating with operations between the two ports. The main content of this agreement is that the Port of Barcelona hands down their experience on advanced port organization and management, in the operational, technical and logistical aspect, to Gyeonggi-do. This agreement is observed as a stepping stone for Pyongtaek Port to grow into a northeast Asian hub port. To widely acknowledge Gyeonggi-do to European Union regions, Gyeonggi-do Weekly Event was arranged with European Studies Associations-Korea (EUSA-KOREA)’s research convention. About 100 guests including EU personnel and Cataluna artists attended the opening of Saeng-kwang Park exhibition, leading artist of Korea’s artists’ world and the photo exhibition of the past 50 years of Korea’s democratic history in Sant Augusti Church in the evening of that day. About 250 attended the Gyeonggi Korean Music Orchestra concert held at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and Industry event hall where there were only 200 seats. The high attendance shows that the people of Spain have interest in Korean art and culture. The “Gyeonggi-do Culture Week” event held in Barcelona, Europe’s historic city of art and culture symbolic of the famous sculptor “Gaudi”, was a cultural event introducing the essence of Korean art and culture.
