According to the employment trend in Gyeonggi-do, provincial unemployment rate of 2.9% in June of this year has dropped 0.1%p from the previous month, but has also climbed 0.6%p in comparison to June of the previous year.

In contrast to the same month of last year, number of unemployed has increased by 35 thousand, summing up to 140 thousand unemployed of this year, but declined 4 thousand from last month.

The reason why the rate of the unemployed declined is analyzed out that employment in almost all fields except in the construction field has risen in spite of the active job hunt by students.

– Unemployment rate of youths is 5.6% (62,000), which has increased 2.1%p from the previous year but decreased 0.1%p from last month.

Current economically active population is 4.793 million, which is increased by 136 thousand (2.9%) from the same month of the previous year and also by 29 thousand (0.6%) from last month. Non-economically active population has decreased by a thousand from the last month totaling 2.937 thousand currently.
