To resolve traffic congestions in the Suji area in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do plans to open an exclusive busland 1.6km long on the 23rd national road from Dongcheon-dong to Geumgok I.C

A variable central exclusive road will be operated to uplift road efficiency from 4AM to 10AM on roads towards Seoul and from 11AM to 3AM the following day on roads towards Yongin.. When road directions change, each directions will be restricted for an hour and on a full-time system basis throughout the year. This will be carried out with the exclusive buslane, which is operated during rush hour on the Gyeongbu Expressway, from Suwon IC to Seocho IC for 26km.

The 8 Megalopolis Express Bus (Red Bus), operating from Suji areas to Kangnam and Gwanghwamun, Seoul, starting from June 30, has been receiving positive reactions from passengers. 8 more Red Buses will be operated starting September 1 and will be extended later on.

When the exclusive lane starts operation on the 23rd national road and Gyeongbu Expressway, megalopolis express buses operation time will be reduced to 30 min. and allocation gap to 3~5 min. This reducement in time is expected to greatly improve the convenience and speediness of bus usage. As bus usage rates increase, cars on the roads will reduce and traffic congestions will be relieved.
