Samsung and Sony Establishes LCD Joint Corporation

Samsung Electronics announced it would establish a joint corporation for LCDs with the Japanese company Sony within this year.

Samsung has also stated today, of a negotiating with Sony on cooperating in the LCD field during the last 6 months and a small-scale joint corporation is being planned for establishment.

This joint corporation is similar to the one established by LG Electronics and Philips, but differs by the joining only a part of the LCD division in Samsung Electronics with Sony.
