The Gyeonggi province is concentrating on expanding export of tomatoes to Japan through technical training by an imported that holds the Japanese tomato distribution channel and by contract cultivation.

The province is promoting 300 tons of tomatoes worth 400,000 dollars to be cultivated according to contract by the Imjingang Tomato Export Council, which is composed of 11 farms in Paju and Yangju districts.

To accomplish producing high-quality tomatoes and exported them to Japan, the cultivation technician of the shipping association in Japan’s largest tomato producing center Kumamoto, will be invited to hand down cultivation technology to produce high-quality tomatoes fit for Japanese consumer taste.
