Gyeonggi-do will host Gyeonggi International Venture Show 2005 (GIVES 2005) with an aim to promote high-end technology competition and exchange among leading venture companies from Korea and abroad by providing opportunities for export and import market expedition and encouraging investment. The event will take place at KINTEX, Goyang, for 4 days from June 2 through 5.

This is the 8th year that the annual show is hosted by the province. It will run under the theme “Riding the New Waves” to lead success of Korean venture companies in international technology competition as well as to haul in sustainable growth as a world-class exhibition for venture companies.

Some 400 venture companies in the fields of IT, BT, and NT will host GIVES 2005 of the biggest size in its history. 100 buyers from across the world will attend the trade B2B meetings, and over 2,000 foreign tourists are expected to visit the exhibition site. The province anticipates that the event combined with trade expansion consultation and other business programs targeting export and import markets will generate export contact and domestic sales of $100 million and KRW10 billion, respectively.

At the center of the event, exhibition works will be divided into “Venture Show” with the Electric & Electronics Hall, IT Hall, BT/NT Hall, and Overseas Hall and “Local Theme Show” featuring theme industries from different cities and counties. Jeonam, Gyeongbuk, and Jeju as well as Gangjin-gun of Jeonnam will accompany 4 Gyeonggi cities including Goyang, Bucheon, Anyang, and Seongnam with an effort to promote specialty industries and local visions.

The “Intelligent Robot Hall” is expected to draw much public interest with 30 robot companies running separate booths as they compete into the advanced markets in overseas. Robot Olympiad, Standing Robot Match, and trial games are scheduled in this hall.
