Gyeonggi Province opens Support Center for Foreign Enterprises

On May 30, an Opening Ceremony of the Support Center for Foreign Enterprises which is built in Hyungok Foreign Investment Unit at Cheongbuk-Myun, Pyeongtaek City, is slated to be held.
There will be about 30 persons-concerned including a Provincial governor Hakkyu Sohn, Hironaka Kunihi, the CEO of HOYA Electronics of Korea and other representatives of foreign enterprises participating in the ceremony which is composed of various events such as unveiling and rice cake cutting, tea party, and proposing of a toast.
Support Center for Foreign Enterprises is already in operation started from Apr. 03, taking care of the difficulties foreign enterprises faced up with.
2 public officials from Gyeonggi Province and Pyeongtaek City are stationed in the Support Center who will listen to the difficulties and recommendations of foreign enterprises to improve business and living conditions for them.
Support Center is endeavoring to enhance the conditions of foreign enterprises by streamlining the local investment system, improving administrative support system, expanding and improving public facilities such as transportation, water supply and drainage, and cleaning system, resolving any other inconveniences foreigners suffer, and increasing the understanding of Korean culture.
Gyeonggi Province has been striving hard to attract foreign investment by promoting various plans such as establishment of English language course for Japanese, English, Korean and etc. to improve language abilities of domestic business workers, extension of public transportation route for easier commute, and provision of support in forming Foreign Investment Enterprise Committee which is to protect the rights and interests of each enterprises and to assist communication of all foreign enterprises in Korea.
3 plans specified above, which has completed all preparations for execution such as governmental negotiations, consignment agreement and etc., will come to implementation next month. Moreover, from June 01, newsletter including various information on local community written in English and Japanese will be sent out twice a month (Every 1st and 15th), which will aid foreigners to adapt themselves into Korean society and to get rid of any difficulties faced as a stranger here.

Support Center for Foreign Enterprises located in 30km distance from all 6 units of foreign Investment in Pyeongtaek and Hwaseong such as Uhyun Hansan, Chupal, Poseung, and Jangan1&2 including Hyungok, is expected to give a lot of support to the Foreign Enterprises in Gyeonggi Province.
