Trouble-shooting process accelerated – leading to a better environment for foreign investors.

On May 30th, Gyeonggi Province will open the Foreign Investors Council Office (FIC Office hereinafter) in Hyeonggok Foreign Investor Company Complex, Pyeongtaek, in order to improve the environment for foreign investors who are doing business in Korea.

Gyeonggi Province opened an office for foreign companies in May 2006, which it has run in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Coalition of Economic Organizations. Yet, for more efficient, prompt, and accurate handling of the issues facing foreign companies, Gyeonggi Province decided to merge the office with the FIC and expanded the office.

The FIC office will serve as a channel for around 550 foreign companies to express their concerns, problems, and issues, and is expected to play a significant role in improving the business environment.
Head of the FIC Office, Kim Yong-moon said, “The FIC Office will provide well-structured care and support to foreign companies operating in Gyeonggi Province.”
In addition, the Province is committed to the following:
– Improving the system for foreign companies to invest in Korea
– Improving the public infrastructure and eliminating bureaucratic red tape
– Publicizing information related with and necessary for business management
– Improving living conditions for foreigners.
Through these measures, Gyeonggi Province intends to attract more foreign investors.

Foreign companies operating in Gyeonggi Province can turn to the FIC web site (www.gafic.or.kr) or telephone (031-683-1983) for any problems or complaints.
