Gyeonggi Province will host export meetings with promising foreign buyers during Korea International Boat Show 2009, which will be held from June 3 to 7, 2009, in order to promote the marine leisure industry – a future growth engine with high added value.

The export meetings will be held for two days from June 3 to 4, 2009, with over 130 promising buyers visiting Jeongok Port from 20 countries with advanced marine leisure industries, including the US and several European nations. Over 200 Korean marine leisure businesses will participate in one-on-one business consultation sessions. Buyers who have difficulties visiting Korea due to the distance can use video conferencing services upon request.

Major items to be discussed include boats, yachts, marine leisure equipment, related accessories, and ship engines. In particular, the province is fostering the export of cutting-edge IT products and services of the marine sector by focusing on the participation of IT and electronics businesses that manufacture such items as small appliances and marine GPS systems.

For the consultation sessions between foreign buyers and domestic businesses, 26 consulting booths and 30 consulting tables will be installed in the conference rooms and exhibition halls of Jeongok Port, and each buyer will be accompanied by interpreters to ensure clear communication.

The province plans to accept applications from domestic businesses who will participate in the export meeting up to mid-May. Businesses intending to participate in the meeting may submit applications online at (http://trade.gg.go.kr.) Businesses of Gyeonggi Province as well as those of other regions of the nation are exempt from the participation fees, providing many businesses with an ideal opportunity to promote the excellence of Korean products and secure export contracts through one-on-one consultation sessions.

Gyeonggi Province, where approximately 33 percent of domestic manufacturing businesses are located, will build the foundation for the promotion of the marine leisure industry through Korea International Boat Show 2009.
