Gyeonggi Province Concludes Contract worth USD 4.05 Million for the Export of Agricultural Products

An MOU for the export of agricultural products of Gyeonggi Province worth USD 4.05 million was concluded at the 2009 Overseas Buyers Export Plaza, which was sponsored by Gyeonggi Province and organized by the Seoul Gyeonggi Office of the Korea Agriculture Trade Center.
At the event, which was held in the Grand Conference Room of the R&DB Center of the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Center on May 28, 2009, seven companies from five countries were present for the MOU signing, including companies from the US, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam and New Zealand.
Under the MOU, Nishin Trading., Inc (US) will import agricultural products worth USD 10 million from Hosan Trading, while H&K, Inc will import products worth USD 15 million from R&G. The participating companies expressed a high level of interest in the agricultural products of Gyeonggi Province.
In addition, the products of 15 companies that had won awards at the well-being rice cake and new rice products contest hosted by Gyeonggi Province were displayed and offered at a tasting event, which was held to teach the visitors about the process of creating rice products. Visitors also visited Mushheart (mushroom), Anseong Rice Mill (traditional Korean rice cake), Manjun Foods (dried seaweed products) and Farming Company Cheonggyeowon (fresh eggs) to look around the production facilities and processes. The tour of these facilities aimed to improve the confidence of visitor in the safety of the products and the brand images.
The visitors also visited the Korean Film Council and Piano Waterfall located in Namyangju, and witnessed the excellence of Korean culture and examples of resource recycling. A spokesperson for Gyeonggi Province said, “We will continuously invite foreign buyers to drive exports, and expand our cultural marketing by combining the excellent agricultural products of Gyeonggi Province with various cultural themes.”
