The Gyeonggi provincial government has decided to develop Gwanggyo Techno Valley as Korea’s leading science and technology cluster.
A ceremony was held at Gwanggyo Techno Valley on Sept. 22, where Gyeonggi Province declared its vision to turn the valley into a mecca of state of the art science and announced a brand integration.
Gwanggyo Techno Valley, which was dedicated in February 2008, has housed five centers, including Gyeonggi Science & Technology Center and Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Center, and 224 firms and academic institutions.
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Governor Kim Moon-soo signed a memorandum of understanding with Chae Young-bok, chairman of Gwanggyo Knowledge Forum, a society of opinion leaders in science, technology and business in the province, on a plan to develop the valley as a science and technology cluster.
Under the MOU, Gyeonggi Province and Gwanggyo Knowledge Forum will join hands in jointly hosting seminars and symposiums, developing the Techno Valley, and supporting businesses.
