On November 17, 2009, a delegation from Frankfurt, Germany, the largest economic hub in the EU, visited the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Center to closely discuss issues related to technological partnerships, exchanges, and trade with Gyeonggi Province.

According to Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Center, the delegation led by Mayor Petra Roth of Frankfurt visited Gyeonggi Province, reaching agreements on economic cooperation between the two countries and the expansion of exchanges and trade, including the attraction of foreign investment.

The team had a luncheon with Governor Mun-Soo Kim of Gyeonggi Province and President Ki-Wha Hong of Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Center, where they discussed measures to facilitate exchanges and trade between two countries.

The Province discussed a way to send businesses from the Province to Ambiente, the world’s largest commodities fair that is held in Frankfurt every spring, and secured floor space of 200¢®¡¿?©ª so that Gyeonggi businesses can display their products and have a favorable position from which to increase exports channels in Europe.

The Province also asked for the installation of an EU Pavilion at G-Fair, the nation’s largest annual fair, to respond to the next year’s signing of Korea-EU FTA, and requested the participation of Germany and the EU’s high-tech firms to participate in G-FAIR. It is expected that the installation of the EU Pavilion will facilitate technological and investment exchanges between the two countries, and increase opportunities for the outsourcing of Korean parts.
