Korean culture and history exploration from June 17 to 18
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Corporation (CEO: Kim Myung Soo) are calling for participants in the third Gyeonggi experience travel, ‘Gyeonggi I-nuri,’ which is a welfare tourism initiative for multi-cultural families.
Now on its third run, this program starts on June 17 under the theme of ¡®Discovering the History of Korean Culture.’ It is comprised of a one-night, two-day tour for multicultural families and seeks to provide new experiences in the values of Korean culture, stressing the importance and unity of family.
The first day features a program to experience and learn about representative Korean culture and history such as the Cheongam Folk Museum, Hong-yuneung Royal Tomb, and the Silhak Museum. There will also be recreational activities such as a Gyeonggi tourism quiz show to review tour information, and the participants’ fiery competition is anticipated due to the generous prizes including oriental medicines for children and book collections supported by I-nuri Herb Clinic and Korean Piaget. On the second day, the journey will close with time spent bonding with family members and interaction with other families during a visit to Spa Green Land.
In addition, college volunteers will join in all the events, serving as guides for the safety, convenience and education of participating families so as to minimize the burden of traveling. Confirmation of the detailed daily schedule and application for travel can be done through the ethankyou homepage (www.ethankyou.co.kr/inoori); families will be selected through the stated screening process.
Gyeonggi I-nuri is unique in that it not only provides multi-cultural families with opportunities of to understand Korean culture through travel, but also provides a communication venue for multi-cultural families, which is highly valued by participants.
