Companies attending the 2011 Korea International Boat Show revealed
Gyeonggi Province announced that 352 companies from 32 countries had registered for the event as of May 20, 2011. Among the attendees were 95 local companies and 105 companies from overseas. One hundred and fifty buyers and investors will also be present at the show
Not.able names include: Larson, a major American boat manufacturer; Cobalt and Beneteau, a French company that ranked fifth in the world in boat manufacturing; and Bellingham Marine, the leading marina construction company from Australia. There will also be large marine leisure companies from Germany, Italy, Japan, and other nations.
This year, US and Japanese companies account for 15.2 percent (10.5 percent in 2010) and 14.3 percent (12.7 percent in 2010) of the total number of participants, showing a notable increase from last year. The number of distant manufacturers from Europe has also increased, demonstrating how the event has attracted further interest.
Around 48% of the items displayed will be boats, due to heightened interest from buyers, and the show is expected to attract more spectators this year.
The local government has expanded the event area by 800¡×©ø to a total of 11,200¡×©ø. Due to an overwhelming number of corporate applicants, the officials had to select from among the companies wishing to attend.
The boat show will exhibit boats, yachts, kayaks, canoes, and various marine leisure-related services and media during the event.
Jeon Tae-heon, Assistant Governor of Economy & Investment for Gyeonggi Province, said, “The world’s marine leisure companies have shown a keen interest in the Korea International Boat Show. I am proud that we have put our local event on the international radar as Korea’s most prominent marine-leisure event.”
The 2011 Korea International Boat Show will take place from June 8 to 12 at Jeongok Marina of Hwaseong City, and Tando Port of Ansan City. The boat show will be accompanied by the Marine Industry Exhibition and the World Match Racing Tour Korea Match Cup. Those who attend will have an opportunity to ride dinghies, yachts, canoes, super boats and other marine vehicles
