Governor Kim Moon-Soo, representing 17 Korean districts, visits China for three days

Gyeonggi Province embarks on a journey to enhance cooperation with China

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Moon-soo will visit Shandong Province (Jinan) and Jiangsu Province (Nanjing) from August 24th to 27th to foster relations with China.

The core purpose of the trip is to attend the Gyeonggi Province Shandong City Association Meeting that will be held in Jinan. The governors of Gyeonggi Province and Shandong will attend this event along with thirty-four district representatives, seventeen from each country. The meeting topics will be cooperation and exchange in economy, culture, and sports.

Pyeongtaek – Jinan, Siheung – Dezhou, Hwaseong – Jining, Gunpo – Linyi, Gimpo – Heze, Yongin – Taian, Suwon – Jinan, Seongnam – Qingdao, Goyang – Binzhou, Bucheon – Weihai, Ansan – Yentai, Anyang – Weifang, Gwangju – Zibo, Yangju – Dongying, Pocheon – Laiwu, Yangpyeong – Zaozhuang, Gwangmyeong – Liaocheng will each have a ‘Friendly City Joint Ceremony.’ 

The city association was first established in April of 2008, but the meeting has been postponed until this year’s event.

After the city association meeting, Gyeonggi Province will host an investment seminar to strengthen its ties with private businesses.

Governor Kim will visit Nanjing in Jiangsu Province to participate in the Gyeonggi-Jiangsu MOU Ceremony. Jiangsu will become Gyeonggi Province’s twenty-sixth sister region.

On August 26th, Governor Kim will meet with Korean business personnel working in Jiangsu, visit the local Samsung Electronics R&D center, and then return to Korea.
