Thirty percent of foreigners in Korea live in Gyeonggi Province

53.9% of domestic foreigners are Chinese, and 10.1% Vietnamese and 3.9% Filipino in order.

3 out of 10 domestic foreigners reportedly reside in Gyeonggi Province.
According to 2012 Provincial statistics of resident registration announced on April 2 by Gyeonggi Province, registered foreigners in the province amounted to 288,000, 30.9% of the whole domestic foreigners of 933,000. This figure is the highest among the nation and accounts for 2.3% of the whole provincial population of 12.38 million.
For nationalities, the most was Chinese with 155,000(53.9%), and Vietnamese with 29,000(10.1%) and Filipinos with 11,000(3.9%) in turn. For stay purposes, those for working visit and non-professional work were the most with 85,000, 58.1% of the whole foreigners, those immigrated for permanent residency were 26,000, and marriage immigrants were 25,000 in order.
A city having the most foreigners was Ansan City with 43,000 foreigners, followed by Suwon with 28,000, Hwaseong with 25,000, and Siheung with 21,000 in sequence. Gwacheon City had meager 300 foreigners.
Ansan and Suwon City had the most Chinese residents of 29,000 and 21,000, respectively. Hawseong City had 4,100 Vietnamese, 3,000 Thais, 1,100 Filipinos, 1,400 Indonesians, 1,100 Nepalese, and 1,100 Sri Lankans. Pocheon City had many Bangladeshis (900).
For gender types, the number of men was a bit larger than that of women as the former was 169,000 (58.6%) while the latter was 119,000 (41.4%). Many of male foreigners resided in Hwaseong, Gimpo, Siheung, and Ansan City where many engage in the manufacturing industry. On the other hand, Seongnam, Uijeongbu, Anyang, Yangpyeong City, and Gapyeong County, where many engage in the wholesale and retail industry or the food and lodging industry, had female foreigners more.
