Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization are hosting the “Meet the DMZ” exhibition at the Small Gallery on the first floor of Paju Imjingak until March 7 in 2014.

Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization have prepared an exhibition in celebration of the end of the year with photographs from the “I Am Going to the DMZ” fam tour. The photographs on exhibit are works by the members of the National Geographic Photo Academy to publicize the famous attractions around the DMZ.

The National Geographic Photo Academy members participated in the “I Am Going to the DMZ” fam tour and took photographs of areas around the DMZ at the northeast of Gyeonggi that could not be easily visited by the general public, such as the Nuri Peace and Imjingang River well known as the western DMZ area as well as Jaein Waterfall, Jusangjeolli, and Soongeuijeon.

The “I Am Going to the DMZ ” fam tour program has provided opportunities for the participants to have a tour around Paju and Yeoncheon regions that are DMZ areas by planning customized field trips for each target. A total of 18 sessions of the fam tour program were conducted thus far starting from the second-half of this year, involving over 600 participants such as foreigners, Koreans, students and club members to visit the security, ecological and historical tourist attractions in northern Gyeonggi.

“While the fam tour provided the opportunity to visit the DMZ and the Civilian Control Line where public access is prohibited, this exhibition provides an opportunity for more tourists to enjoy the beauty of the DMZ area,” said an official of Gyeonggi Tourism Organization. “We will further improve customized fam tour programs and expand the contact point of publicity for the DMZ and the Civilian Control Line.”
