Expectations for the 2014 Korea International Boat Show have been mounting among companies.

Surpassing targeted registration of 700 booths for this year’s Korea International Boat Show, Gyeonggi Province announced that 132 companies applied for 712 booths one month prior to the actual deadline of April 25.  Accordingly, registration closed early on March 31.

The province has determined that enthusiasm among companies regarding the Korea International Boat Show has not abated despite a significant downsizing of the exhibition area to 16,900㎡ from the 28,500㎡ of 2013, with a 60% reduction in corresponding costs.

Accordingly, Gyeonggi Province will increase the exhibition area to 22,500㎡ so as to accommodate more participants. It projected that 1000-odd booths will be realized through additional registrations.

To facilitate business outcomes for participants, the province will also accelerate buyer marketing through the invitation of substantial, large-scale buyers in cooperation with worldwide marine associations as well as domestic and foreign marine leisure organizations.

“I would like to thank all the entrepreneurs in the field of marine leisure for their continued support of the Korea International Boat Show this year,” said Park Seung-sam, Director General of Gyeonggi Province’s Service Industry Bureau. “As a boat show focused on business and global competiveness, we will do our utmost to maximize marketing effectiveness for participants.”
