– Development of the future of the creative culture industry through cultural exchanges and collaboration between Korea and China
The first session of the Korea-China Creative Culture Industry Forum will be held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province on December 5 and 6.
The upcoming Korea-China FTA ratification is expected to make the event more meaningful. The forum will be attended by many celebrities from business and culture circles of both countries including SM Entertainment Producer Lee Soo-man, KOCCA President Hong Sang-pyo, film director Kim Yong-hwa, Iconics Entertainment President Choi Jong-il, Hyundai MOBIS Chairman Park Jeong-hak, Korean Air President Ji Chang-hun, CJ China President Park Keun-tae, SK China President Yu Yeol, Hansaem President Kang Seung-su, Hurom President Jeong Yeong-du, etc.
Chinese celebrities invited to the event include Alibaba Group Chairman Ma Yun, film director Lee Ang (of Lust Caution fame), Tencent Chairman Ma Huateng, film director Zhang Yimou, etc.
In March this year, Governor Nam Kyung-pil signed an MOU for the establishment of the forum with Chairman Liubinjie of the Education, Science, and Health Committee of the National People’s Congress when the former was a member of the National Assembly.
The first session of the forum is being held in Guangdong Province based on the sisterly ties maintained between the province and Gyeonggi Province and the special invitation extended by Guangdong Province Party Secretary Hu Chunhua to Governor Nam Kyung-pil, his longtime friend. Last March, Hu Chunhua expressed the wish for Governor Nam to pay a visit to Guangdong Province after the latter’s election as governor.
“Guangdong Province has been engaged in economic and trade exchanges with 150 countries or regions since 1979 when China adopted a special policy for foreign trade. His visit to China is expected lead to discussions on expanded collaboration in cultural and economic sectors on the occasion of the conclusion of the bilateral FTA negotiations,” a Gyeonggi Province official said
Governor Nam Kyung-pil will give a congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony of the International e-Culture Festival (IEF) on the evening of December 5.
Governor Nam Kyung-pil and former Gangwon Province Governor Lee Kwang-jae serve as co-chairmen of the e-Sports festival held for young people in Korea and China.
The event will be accompanied by a mobile film festival and other cultural events. Many K-Pop stars will also attend the event, including ZE:A, Lyn (who sang the theme song of My Love from the Star), band Rux, etc.
