Suwon KT Wiz Park is now open! The professional baseball age begins in Suwon City.
The baseball season is upon us. Let’s win the Korean Series with Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, and KT striving hand in hand!
With the support of Suwon and Gyeonggi Province, we hope KT Wiz Park becomes the most prestigious ball park in Korea.
Professional baseball in Suwon begins now! On March 14, the opening ceremony for KT Wiz Park took place at the Suwon Baseball Stadium.
The Suwon Baseball Stadium has been renovated as a four-story facility with 20,225 seats, covering a total area of 19,939㎡. The first professional baseball match held at the Suwon Baseball Stadium in 2,717 days (the first since October 5, 2007) took place for the opening ceremony.
Over 170 dignitaries including Suwon City Mayor Yeom Tae-young, National Assembly Members Lee Chan-yeol (New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD), Suwon gab), Kim Yong-nam (Saenuri Party, Suwon byeong), Park Gwang-on (NPAD, Suwon jeong), Kim and Sang-min (Saenuri Party, proportional representative), former National Assembly Member Kim Jin-pyo, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Chairman Kang Deuk-gu, Social Integration Vice Governor Lee Gi-woo, KBO Commissioner Koo Bon-neung, KT President Hwang Chang-gyu, and more than 10,000 Suwon citizens as well as baseball fans attended the opening ceremony.
A Badakdol opening event, commemorative tree-plantingevent , and tape-cutting event took place prior to the opening ceremony. The Badakdol laid in front of the stadium’s entrance were made with 1,500 pieces of engraved granite bearing messages from sponsoring individuals and groups who love KT Wiz and baseball.

The popular female group EXID performed songs including ‘Up and Down’ at the congratulatory concert held after the opening ceremony to fuel the atmosphere inside the baseball stadium.
