The origin of the title, Wonhyo Temple goes back to the queen Jindeok of Silla dynasty when Wonhyo priest stayed at the temple for religious practice. Lotus of the True Law Sutra, written in Korean in the 4th year (1626) of the King Injo’s reign during Josen period, wre compiled in 1 volume and 2 books. Its handwriting was exemplary, fine and its preserve condition is excellent. Gongdeokgyeong, the constant rule of merit compiled by court ladies who demonstrated a stringent Confucianism norm in the early 17th century is a value material as to that the scripture was made to perform a good will to people and this material in appreciated in studying the Korean phonemic notation.
