Nine Resorts Constructed till 2006 in Gyeonggi

With the five-day week enforced and the importance of health is being recognized, Gyeonggi plans to expand resorts within its forest areas.

Gyeonggi revealed its plans on Aug. 6 to invest 26.8 billion Won until 2006 to create new or recreated nine resorts for residents which included a natural recreation forest, four forest parks, four small-sized private woods.

469 million Won will be used to restructure 12ha of recreation forest on the Chukryong Mt. and addition 120ha in Yongmun Mt.

An additional 7,200 million Won will be used for restructuring 37ha of forest on the Hwanghak Mt. in Yeoju-gun and for the restructure of ecological rivers and forests in the provincial arboretum to provide various attractions to visitors.

A provincial representative of this project has said natural sites that can be easily visited on the outskirts of cities or areas with natural beauty will be expanded.
