Gyeonggi-do is expanding export of fruits such as grapes, peaches, pears and other produce grown from 95 farms of the Hwaseong Grapes Export Association, 25 farms of the Eastern Orchard Agricultural Cooperative Association and other organizations, through sampling and sales promotions in Malaysia and Hong Kong from Sept 20 to Oct. 1.

The province has chosen grapes and peaches as sales promotion items because of the prospect of poor export due to the conclusion of the Korean Chile FTA (Free Trade Agreement). These export items will be exported directly and will go through market tests to make inroads into foreign markets. Sales promotions are held in local large distribution centers to induce direct export and also sampling events, sales promotion souvenirs, publicity posters and large banner advertisements are actively supported.

Sales promotion events are held for 5 days, from Sept 20 to 24, in 13 large food distribution centers in Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia.

Grapes will be the main product being introduced in this event and then after this, pears, sweet persimmons and other Korean produces will follow. Sales promotions in local centers will be induced to open more inroads to other distribution companies and extend inroad opportunities in the Malaysian market.

Sales promotion in Hong Kong Uny(HK) Department Store and Sogo(HK) Department Store will also be held from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1.
