A new ‘Public Transportation Transfer Discount System’ will be enforced starting on November 1. 

To reduce economical loads from public transportation users, raise avail of bus usage and improve transportation business management and services, the Gyeonggi Province formulated a system to discount 50 Won for each bus transfer. 

The fare discount system applies to prepaid and paid transportation cards used to transfer from a Gyeonggi-do bus to another bus within 2 hours. The fare for the transfer bus will be discounted and cards do not have to be checked when getting off from the transfer bus. 

A province official said the transfer discount system will solve compatibility problems of Metropolitan transportation cards and will be successively enforced onto buses and subways in Seoul and Incheon and throughout other major cities starting from the latter half of next year.
