Governor of Gyeonggi Province Supports G-Mark as a Power Brand

To raise the competitiveness of farm produce raised in Gyeonggi-do, the provincial Governor has personally announced of extend the current 61 G-Mark companies to 82 companies till 2006. 

G-Marks are currently marked as accordingly, Green G-Marks on 9 eco-friendly agricultural products, Gold G-Marks on 40 famous local products. 

The term of validity of using the G-Mark for the 49 companies has been extended for one more year through the approval of the G-Mark Council and 3 more eco-friendly products and 9 more local products have been registered with the G-Mark, making a total of 61 G-Marked companies. Quality management and other services on the newly branded companies and farms will be operated later on. 

Certification of the G-Mark on the 12 eco-friendly Green mark are 6 on fruits and vegetables, 3 on grains and 3 on mushrooms, local products are marked according as 10 on traditional food products such as kimchi and 39 on general products such as farm produce, livestock products, forest products and more. 

Already 1 billion Won has been invested to promote G-Mark as a power brand, on publicity through TV, radio and more for about 920 times. Also exhibitions in famous department stores were held and G-Mark companies are given the opportunities to open stores in department stores. Another 1 billion Won investment for publicity purposes in 2004 is planned.
