The Gyeonggi-do government is stepping forward to materialize a “Pleasant living environment for its 10 million residents. Preserving and restoring green land such as providing forest recreation areas will be carried out to put this plan to effect. By presenting the environmental prospect, afforestation for this year will extensively be enforced through 5 priority measures. 

The five major measures contain the following contents. 
1. Creating a green Gyeonggi-do surrounded by trees 
2. Afforesting mountain resources 
3. Protecting forest and mountain resources through countermeasures against calamities such as forest fires 
4. Expanding forest recreation facilities using forests 
5. Establishing competitive and sentimental mountain villages. 

A wide green network will be established to connect both outskirts and forests inside cities for creating effective scenery and for prevention against damage on greenland during various developments. The 4 key green zones are Core Green, Main Green, Boundary Green and Sub Green and other plans to preserve green structures, and restructure and restore severed parts are in progress.
