Gyeonggi-do residents can now receive weather warnings about yellow dust blown from China through their mobile phones for free. 

The provincial government announced on Mar. 11, that mobile message service will be provided to residents to minimize damage by yellow dust. 

Accordingly, this service was first initiated on the night of Mar. 10, by informing residents who have subscribed for this service of yellow dust weather condition and requested for them to restricting outdoor activities. 

Warning of yellow dust weather will also be informed by facsimile to police and fire stations, apartment superintendent’s offices, hospitals and other multi-purpose facilities. 

Anyone who wishes to receive SMS services on yellow dust warnings may apply for the service at the provincial office and terminal offices.
