DMZ tourist souvenirs in the Chinese market

The Gyeonggi-do government plans to set up and operate its own public relations booth during the International Travel Fair (Mar. 26~28, 2004) in Guangzhou, Guangdongsheung, China, to induce Chinese tourists. 

Unlike fairs before, this time a Gyeonggi-do booth will be established separately from the Korean booth set by the Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO). Travel agencies, tourism organizations and related organs will not only join to unfold publicity, consulting and sales promotion, but also will contact with many Guangdong organs to agree upon tourism exchange. 

In consequence of the results of the consultations, operation of special airline routes and exchange of tourist souvenirs with comparative advantages will promote mutual understands between both provinces. Local tourism industry is expected to be revitalized and also a new way out to open overseas tourism markets will be exploited. 

Under the theme “Jewel of World Tourism, Beautiful Gyeonggi Province”, the Gyeonggi-do booth will introduce tourist commodities favored by Chinese, such as race tracks and amusement parts, Everland and Seoulland, DMZ tourist souvenirs, global cultural heritages and other distinguished attractions and cultural events. 

Large panels will be installed per theme for each tourist attraction and a large PDP screen will show a publicity video. Tourist map and detailed outline of Gyeonggi-do will also be made into a booklet and distributed. 

Gyeonggi-do expects to obtain excellent results through this oversea event and also accelerate its relation with Guangdong Province ahead from the”Visit Gyeonggi Year 2005″.
