The Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that it is holding the Gyeonggi Province College Students UCC Contest under the theme of “Share Your Tips About Gyeonggi Province”.
The contest is open to all college students nationwide, including Korean and international students as well as students on leave. Through this contest, Gyeonggi Province will promote the province by using creative video content from college students and attract their interest in the province.
There are no fixed genres or formats. Content can be in the style of advertisements, animations, movies, music videos and so on. However, full-length contents should be shorter than 10 minutes and short content should be less than one minute. If you want to participate in the contest, submit an application via the contest website and send the video by e-mail (gyungi.ucc@gmail.com).
Multi-stage screening will be used to select quality video content. A practical evaluation group will select 100 teams in each segment. Then, 30 teams will be selected in each segment by experts through preliminary screenings. At the end, the final 15 winners will be selected in each segment through social media screening.
Prize money totaling KRW 18 million (KRW 9 million for full-length videos and for short videos) is available. One team will be selected for each of the grand, gold and silver awards, and two teams will receive bronze awards in each segment. Grand, gold, silver and bronze award winners receive KRW 2.5 million, KRW 1.5 million, KRW 1 million and KRW 500,000, respectively. The Governor of Gyeonggi Province will present certificates to the winners. Ten teams will be selected for popularity awards and receive KRW 300,000 each.
Applications will be accepted from September 4 to 17. The prize-winning entries will be announced via the contest website on October 16. The final results will be announced during the awards ceremony on October 24.
Kim Byeong-man, Director of the Education Cooperation Division of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, said, “I am curious about how college students see the culture, policy and tourism of Gyeonggi Province and how they will express their views in their contents. I hope that college students will be gain more interest in Gyeonggi Province through this contest.”
