In Hanam, Flowing Water and Falling Leaves Become Art
Hanam Arts Center opened on May 11, 2007 with the goal of pursing fun and helpfulness. Bringing together generations and genres, we have developed an ‘audience participation program where the whole family can enjoy together’, and a ‘creative program to feature regional characteristics’ to provide opportunities for the citizens to enjoy culture and to improve Hanam’s quality of life. We will turn this city into the Culture City Hanam.
| Grand Theater (Geomdan Hall) | This is a grand theater that represents Hanam, with its name coming from Geomdansan Mountain, which is the symbol and attraction of Hanam. This theater has a maximum capacity of 911 people (including 10 seats for the handicapped), and is a comprehensive culture and arts space, which can effectively perform various genres including musical concerts, plays, operas, ballets, and musicals. The rotating stage at the center of the stage and movable stage for the orchestra at the front of the stage enable 3 dimensional and various stage productions, and the theater is equipped with the newest lighting facilities and sound facilities to perform complex functions. |

| Little Theater (Arang Hall) | A little theater with the name from Baekje’s legend of Arang passed down from old days. This theater has a maximum capacity of 367 people (including 6 seats for the handicapped), which is suitable to hold concerts such as chamber music and recitals. It is a multipurpose theater with lighting and sound facilities that are just as good as those of the grand theater, and is an art space with no limitations on genre such as plays, concerts, and experimental works. |
| Outdoor Stage (Eoul Madang) | An outdoor stage, which aims to become a harmonious garden where everyone can get along together and become one. This place can hold about 200 people, and street plays, madangnori, live concerts, etc. are possible. Also, the performances are centered on citizen created arts festival that the family can enjoy together in order to make this place a play and rest space for Hanam citizens and visitors. |
| Exhibition Hall | This is a space located on the second floor of the exhibition hall with a size of about 316.7㎡, and is equipped with indirect lighting of downlight and railspot. For the efficient division of space, it is equipped with the facilities like exhibition high partition and moving walls, so it can play various roles as an exhibition hall. |
