Robots that move independently to serve food and clean up as well as those that disinfect large areas will be unveiled at the Pangyo Autonomous Mobility Show (PAMS 2020), which will be held from Thursday, October 15, to Saturday, October 17.

Gyeonggi Province announced on September 16 that it will hold PAMS 2020 jointly with the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) and the Advanced Institute of Convergence Technology (AICT), and host the “#UNTACT #CONNECT” event in which participants will be able to experience autonomous mobility services during the show.

Considering the rising demand for “untact” (contactless) services due to COVID-19, the event was designed to introduce customized untact services for each industry utilizing autonomous technologies.

Untact service products provided by companies include untact serving robots for foodservice establishments visited by many customers, intelligent service robots that combine patrol and security functions for corporate buildings and fairs, and disinfecting robots for crowded indoor facilities such as schools and office buildings.

Through this exhibition, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government expects that the Pangyo area, a center of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, will be transformed into a testbed for a wide variety of autonomous mobility services, and anticipates that this will be a meaningful event through which to promote the commercialization of technologies developed by autonomous startups and related companies in the province.

In addition, the provincial government will also provide autonomous mobility services to individuals, shops, government offices, and businesses through preliminary applications. Any business establishment or enterprise that requires untact autonomous mobility services in Pangyo is eligible to apply, and applications will be accepted until Friday, September 25, through the official PAMS 2020 website (www.gpams.co.kr). Those who apply for the program will be selected by draw.

“This demonstration, a major program of PAMS 2020, will be offered an opportunity to experience untact services that have gained importance not only in related industries but also in our daily lives,” said Lim Mun-yeong, Director General of the Future Growth Policy Bureau. “We look forward to seeing individuals and companies receiving greater assistance through services implemented with exceptional technologies and to empowering service-providing companies at the same time.”

PAMS 2020 will be held for three days from Thursday, October 15, to Saturday, October 17, at Pangyo Techno Valley #1 and #2.
