As the largest winter festival in the metropolitan area, Gapyeong Singsing Winter Festival opens on January 2 next year. Families and lovers can enjoy ice fishing for trout and go sledding. 1.2 million people visited the festival in the previous year.

The highlight of the festival is ice fishing for trout. An ice fishing place nine times the size of a soccer field is being built at Gapyeongcheon, and the ice is 40 cm thick and can bear the weight of 30,000 people at once. Participants can enjoy a thrilling experience as they catch trout, and they can eat the trout they caught at the roasting areas or sashimi centers installed in various spots of the venue. Moreover, there will be a 12,990 ㎡ playground for 5,000 people to enjoy snow sledding, ice sledding, family bike riding and motorcycling around the ice fishing place.

There are also various subsidiary events to entertain the eyes and ears of participants such as a radio studio that announces stories and plays requested music, as well as snow castles and ice sculptures.
