Organized in conjunction with the graduation ceremony, the presentations of worksstudents graduatingthe center’s IT education program also took place, showcasing a number of IT product prototypes.
One of the displayed items that attracted the most attention was this board game application involving a vehicle that must find an escape route before ice cream completely melts. The 38-year-old developer of this game, Won Jeong-in (원정인), was a full-time housewife for three years before she entered the IT education course. The objective of the IT education program of the Gyeonggi Women’s Development Centerto train women as professional developers of IT products such as web3D contents as well as apps. The Free Car Fuel Analysis Service of Gyeonggi Province has been successfully combatting illegal fuel dealings among gas stations. This service worksrandomly sampling the fuelvehicles on the roadproviding free fuel analysis. As a result, many gas stations have been revealed for their violationspenalized accordingly.

This gas station in Hwaseong (화성) City was identified for its illegal fuel dealings in April this yearthe Car Fuel Free Analysis Team,was ordered to suspend business. Their violation was discoveredtracking the purchase of fuel after it was found to contain an illegal mixture. This gas stationone of seven that were revealed during the crack-down last February.
However, this gas stationstill operating normally under the name of a new proprietor. Since a business suspension orderissued to an individual rather than to a business, the suspension order becomes worthless when the owner continues business under a borrowed name. The new amendment to the related law, which took effect last May, now prohibits the continuation of business at the same location regardless of the proprietor’s name once the business has been suspended.

One of the notable awards was the presidential award presented to the Gyeonggi Province Micro-Finance Support Center. This center realized a remarkable KRW 4.5 billion in financial support in just six months.

The presidential award was presented to the center on the 12th of this month for its extensive support of smallmedium businesses in the province.
2) Technology Doctor Project Wins Prime Minister’s Award
The Technology Doctor Project of Gyeonggi Province won the prime minister’s award in the technical support sector. This project has been providing technical support to smallmedium-sized businesses that were experiencing difficulties due to a lack of technological capabilities. The Small Enterprise Healing Project of Gyeonggi Province was also recognized for its efforts to alleviate youth unemploymentfor the creation of local jobs. Gyeonggi Province was also recognized as an Excellent Agency in the Promotion of Social Enterprises.
These awards are proof of the effectiveness of the economic policies of Gyeonggi Province which prioritize the livelihood of economic minorities.

An exhibition entitled “The LifeCulture of American Natives” opened on December 17th at the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum. This exhibition will provide children with an ideal opportunity to learn about American Nativesexperience their culture.

At this exhibition, artifacts including 45 earthenware pieces of the Mimbres tribe – an American Native tribe – are on display.
2) EarthenwareBaskets of Mimbreses
Earthenware madethe Mimbrescharacterizedsymbolic patterns that depict objects in their lives such as deerfish. Basketsbags of various shapessizes made of woven straw show the wisdom of American Natives. Once used in their daily lives, these artifacts tell us much about their lifehistory.

In addition to learning about the lives of American Natives through their artifacts, this exhibition also operates children programs such as Painting Mimbres EarthenwarePhoto Zone in which viewers take photographs wearing native attire.
4) Lee Jae-heon / Curator of the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum
“The exhibits include 45 earthenware pieces donatedthe Mimbres Foundation.”
Through these artifacts of the Mimbres tribe, who lived in the American southwest, viewers can catch a glimpse of the lives of ancient Americans. This exhibition of Mimbres relics, which were providedthe Mimbres Foundation, will run until February 24th next year.
