Following the enactment of the Ordinance for the Improvement of Non-regular Employment Conditions for the first time among larger autonomous bodies of Korea in January this year, the Gyeonggi Provincial Council approved the commissioning of a preliminary study for the establishment of a comprehensive plan for the same purpose.

This study has a special implication in that it also includes an examination of non-regular employment among private enterprises.

The Special Judicial Police of Gyeonggi Province staged a crackdown on 72 octopus restaurants in the province,uncovered a total of 30 restaurants that violated country-of-origin indication regulations.

By falsely presenting the Chinese octopuses as Korean, restaurants pocketed KRW10.000 in illegal profit per octopus.

The violators who were uncovered during this crackdown will be fined up to KRW100 million. The Special Judicial Police will continue to monitor these violators for further violations.
