The number of infants up to 5 years of age in Gyeonggi Province860,000. While there are over 11,000 childcare facilities in the province, only 59 of them offer 24-hour service. Italmost impossible to have children acceptedany of them.

More than 250,000 Chinese nationals visited the province last year alone,the number has been steadily increasing over the past three years.
1) New Tour Product Sold through Chinese Tour Operators
The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, Korea Tourism OrganizationQingdao City jointly developed a combined China-Korea tour product to promote Sino-Korea tourism. This productnow on sale in China through Chinese tour operators.
2) 2500 Inquiries during First Month
Over 2,500 inquiries poured in during the first month since this tour product was introduced, reflecting the popularity of Korean tours among Chinese.

This China-Korea tour consists of one night in Qingdao followeda tour of Gyeonggi Province for two nights that includes Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon (수원) City, Everland, the Korean Folk Villagethe DMZ. Culturalhistorical experience programs await Chinese tourists at each of their destinations.

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will continue to do its utmost to promote China-Korea tours among Chinese. As part of such efforts, the organization will invite Chinese tourism personnel on familiarization tours in Gyeonggi Province.

4) 585 Schools Provide Environment-friendly School Meals
A total of 585 schools in Gyeonggi Province now provide environment-friendly school meals.
5) Rate of Satisfaction: 77.2%
A survey conductedthe Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education of primary schools, parents62,000 school teachers revealed that the satisfaction rate with the school meal policyas high as 77.2%.

The satisfaction rates with the qualityoperation of school meals were 70.5%72.3%, respectively, 68.7% agreed that environment-friendly school meals are influential in the improvement of pride among students.
6) Gyeonggi Province Provides Support of KRW40 Billion
The average cost of an environment-friendly school mealKRW 2,473, KRW 323 more than an ordinary school meal. The differencepaidthe provincial government within its budgetary limit of KRW 40 billion. Environment-friendly school meals were first introduced with the aim of providing children with safe food ensuring stable income for farmers.
