Title 1. Crackdown on Fake Sesame Oil Producers (0822-1)

The Gyeonggi Special Judicial Police uncovered four factories that illegally produced fake sesame oilmixing it with corn oil. So far, 35,000 1.8-litre bottles of fake sesame oil with a total value of KRW 420 million are known to have been sold through food wholesalers.

1) XXX Oil Producer / Goyang City
Thisa sesame oil factory in Goyang (고양) City. The label on every bottle of the finished products of this factory clearly states it contains 100% sesame oil. But scores of large corn oil cans were found earlier in a corner of this factory. They have been selling fake sesame oil productsmixing 40% sesame oil with 60% corn oil.

“They (corn oil tins) arrive here,when they leave, they leave mixed (with sesame oil)”
This factory alone has so far produced 23,000 1.8-litre bottles of fake sesame oil worth KRW 270 millionsold them through various routes including food wholesalers. The main reason why the fake products could be marketed so easily was that they are hard to distinguishreal sesame oil justappearance. We conducted our own testmade fake sesame oil in the same waymixing real sesame oil with corn oil.
3) Difficult to DistinguishReal Sesame Oil
One of thesefake sesame oilthe other onereal. It reallydifficult to distinguish onethe other justappearance. The fake products sold in the market also lookthis, except they were cheaperso sold much faster.
4) 4 Fake Sesame Oil Producers Unvcovered
The Gyeonggi Special Judicial Police had begun a detailed investigation of six suspected fake sesame oil producers in Gyeonggi Province,prosecuted four who had distributed a total of 35,000 bottles of fake sesame oil.

“Since fake sesame oil products are difficult to distinguishreal ones with the naked eye, one must question the authenticity the pricecheap.”
The prosecuted owners of these factories will face imprisonment or a fine of up to KRW 50 million. The Gyeonggi Special Judicial Police will continue the crackdown on fake sesame oil producers as they believe there are more illegal producers.

An ambitious project for the construction of a large distribution complex in Anseong (안성) City was recently revealed. E-mart Company of the Shinsegae (신세계) Group plans to invest KRW 400 billion in this project, which will a consumer economic center in Anseong (안성) City

An open land lot in Jinsari (진사리) of Anseong (안성) City has been chosen for the location of this distribution complex.
2) Transformation of Vehicle Storage Yard into Mega-Distribution Center
This site used be a storage yard of the Ssangyong (쌍용) Automobile Company,it will be transformed into a huge distribution center.
3) MOU for Establishment of Anseong Distribution Complex / Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex (August 22nd)
Gyeonggi Province, Anseong (안성) Citythe Sinsegae (신세계) E-mart Company signed an MOU for the establishment of the E-Mart Anseong (안성) Distribution Complex last week.

Constructionslated for completion in March of 2014 on a 123-acre site housing a state-of-the-art distribution complex which will be the largest of its kind in Korea
6) Economic Axis of Anseong City
Last year, the Shinsegae (신세계) Group launched a construction project for a mega-shopping mall in Jinsari (진사리),has already invested KRW 300 billion. With a large shopping malldistribution complex, Jinsari (진사리) will undoubtedly become the core of the consumer economy in Anseong (안성) City.
7) Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Moon-soo
“The location of this distribution complexideal because itclose to the Anseong (안성) Interchange of the Gyeongbu (경부) Expressway. When this distribution complexcomplete, it will generate a synergy effect together with the shopping mall complex as well as positive effects on the development of distribution businesses in Korea.”
Gyeonggi Province expects that the investment of E-Mart will also lead to a creation of at least 1,000 new jobs.

Title 3. Mobile Incinerator for Prevention of Foot-and-mouth Disease (0824-1)

Foot-and-mouth disease d havoc throughout the Korean countryside last winter. Many livestock farmers are still recoveringthe damage causedthis disease. Cullingburying infected animals managed to address the emergency situation, but environmental issues lingered. A new method of resolving this environmental problem was proposedGyeonggi Provinceis drawing interest.

More than three million cowspigs were culledburied in Gyeonggi Province last winter after the onset of foot-and-mouth disease. But such crude emergency measures gave rise to environmental issues such as the proper managementleaching control of burial sites. The necessity for some advanced means of processing culled animals to replace the controversial burial method arose.
1) Demo Operation of Mobile Animal Incinerator / Icheon City (August 23rd)
As an alternative, Gyeonggi Province decided to purchase mobile animal incinerators for the first time in Koreaheld an operational demonstration.
2) Odorless, Smokeless Incineration
This incinerator with a one-ton combustion chamber can incinerate culled animals in one hour without generating odor or smoke.
3) Daily Incineration Capacity: 40 Cows or 300 Pigs
Based on 24-hour operation, it can process up to 40 cows or 300 pigs a day,consumes 50 liters of diesel fuel. Energy efficiency can be improved, however, since the incinerator can also use animal fatthe burning carcasses as fuel.
4) No More Environmental HazardBurial
This incineratorconsidered an ideal solution for the potential environmental problems that may arisethe burial of animals.

The price for an animal incineratorKRW 400 million. After pilot operation, Gyeonggi Province plans to distribute the incinerators across the entire province.

Double-decker buses are an icon of London. Gyeonggi Province now plans to introduce double-deckers to alleviate traffic congestion during rush hour.

Every bus stop between Gyeonggi ProvinceSeoul has long queues at this time of day. After a long wait, the bus finally arrives, but one must be extremely lucky to be able to find an empty seat. Most passengers have no choice but to remain standingsubmit to a swaying journey.
1) Double-deckers in Gyeonggi Province
To alleviate such inconvenience for commuters, Gyeonggi Province plans to introduce double-deckers on red bus routes. Double-decker buses are 3 meters longer0.8 meters higher than ordinary buses.
2) 50% More Seats
A double-decker bus has 67 seats, 50% more than the 45 seats of the bus currently servicing red bus routes.
3) 2 Runs Equals Previous 3 Runs
This also means 2 runs of a double-decker can carry as many passengers as three runs of an ordinary bus. The effect will be maximized these double-deckers are introduced on heavily utilized routes.
4) Less Accident-Pone, More Crime-proof
Since these double-decker buses will carry only seated passengers, risk of traffic accidentssignificantly reducedon-board criminal acts can be prevented.
