Gyeonggi Province donated emergency medical equipment to military hospitals in northern regions of the provincecivilian medical service facilities are scarce.

1) Emergency Medical Equipment Delivered to 4 Army Hospitals / Yangju Army Hospital
The northern regions of Gyeonggi Province lack medical facilities for civilian residents although there are four military hospitals in these regions. Gyeonggi Province donated emergency medical equipment to these military hospitals so as to improve the availability of emergency medical servicespromote the health of civilian residents in these regions.
2) 2 Automatic Defibrillators2 Emergency Patient Trolleys for Each Hospital
The equipment that was delivered to the army hospitals consisted of two automatic defibrillatorstwo emergency patient trolleys for each hospital.
3) Continuous Support for Medical Service in Northern Gyeonggi Regions
Gyeonggi Province will continue to provide support to these military hospitals for the benefit of both military personnelthe local residents who have to use military hospitals due to the lack of civilian medical facilities in these regions.
Title 2. Acceleration of Military Camp Relocation AwayPopulated Areas (0613-2)

Four military bases in urban areas in Yangpyeong (양평) County of Gyeonggi Province will move out to less populated areas. The current sites will be used for the development of housing, tourismrecreation areas2015. Residents in these areas look forward to the development with high expectations.

1) MOU for Transfer of Military Bases / Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complex (June 13th)
Gyeonggi Province, Yangpyeong (양평) Countythe Yangpyeong (양평) Baejeon (배전) Consortium signed an MOU for the transfer of four Korean Army units, including an anti-aircraft battalion, out of urban areasbegan practical relocation procedures.
2) Transfer of 4 Military UnitsYanpyeong Downtown Areas
The total area to be vacatedthe military units amounts to approximately 157,000 sq.m. These military units will be relocated to the outskirts of populated areas in Yongmun (용문) districtOkcheon (옥천) District.
3) Development of Housing ComplexesRecreation Facilities on Former Military Bases2015
After the transfer, the former military sites will be developed as residentialrecreational areas2015. The local residents around the present military bases will then be able to benefitlocal development.
4) Shin Young-A, Yangpyeong County Resident
“Development of this area has always been ruled out because of the presence of a military base, but the area will become much better when the military basereplacednew facilities.”
Successful completion of the transfer of these four military bases will provide Gyeonggi Province with greater leverage in its continued efforts to relocate military bases.

The Children Protection Zones around primary schools still remain ‘Frequent Children Traffic Accident Zones’ due to reckless drivers. Gyeonggi Provincecitizen groups mounted a campaign to eliminate traffic accidents in the Children Protection Zones.

1) 30 km/h in Children Protection Zone Sticker Affix Campaign / Western Plaza of Uijeongbu Station (June 10th)
Gyeonggi Province mounted a campaign in the Western Plaza of Uijeongbu (의정부) Station for the observance of a 30 km-per-hour speed limit in Children Protection Zones so as to prevent traffic accidents involving children.
2) Promotion of Public Awareness of Children’s SafetyCompliance with Traffic Rules
Thispart of a national campaign initiatedthe Ministry of Public AdministrationSecurity to promote public awareness of the safety of childrencompliance with traffic regulations. It aims to encourage drivers to abidethe 30 km-per-hour speed limit in Children Protection Zones such as school zones.
3) Gyeonggi Province Taxi Coop Joins Sticker Affix Campaign
Gyeonggi Province will continue to implement measures to improve safety in Children Protection Zones such as the installation of speed bumps since 2003 as well as this sticker campaign which will be expanded to taxi cooperatives in the province.

Among the 620 booths in two huge exhibition halls, a total of 112 were occupiedoverseas companies including world boat manufacturing technology leadersEurope, the United StatesChina such as Bennetto, a French company with a 120-year history, giving this show a truly international aura.
5) Investment Presentation for Potential Overseas Investors (June 8th)
During the show, presentations were also provided for potential international investors. There were also presentations on the Jeongok (전곡) Marine Industrial Complexthe Goryeom (고렴) Marine Leisure Complex thatslated for completion in 2013.
The elevated profile of this year’s Korea International Boat Show, as demonstratedthe high interest shownpotential overseas investors, bodes well for the development of the marine leisure industry in Gyeonggi Province.
