1. Gyeonggi Province to Save More Emergency Trauma Patients

Thereincreasing social demand for the improvement of Korea’s emergency treatment tem for severely injured trauma patients, especially after the incident of Captain Seok Hae-gyun(석해균), whose recovery became a national concern when he was brought to hospital after being shotpirates off the coast of Somalia earlier this year. The helicopter arrivespicks up the patient,the medical team quickly provides proper emergency care during transport. The patientlater announced to be in a stable condition, thanks to the timely response of the emergency tem.
Timethe most important element in the survival of emergency trauma patients. Chances of survival are much higher treatmentgiven within one hour of the accident. Thisknown as the “golden hour”.
According to a recent survey, however, out of a total 610,000 investigated cases of severe trauma, nearly 30,000 ended up being fatal. Moreover, some 9,200 patients, accounting for 33% of those who died, could have been saved treatment had arrived earlier. Ambulances are often stuck in traffic,the dispatch of a helicoptertime-consuming due to administrative red-tape.
Gyeonggi Provincethe Ajou (아주) University Medical Center signed an MOU so as to improve the survival rate of trauma patientsfacilitating emergency transportlaunched the “Save More Trauma Patients” project.
Helicopters of the Gyeonggi Fire Service carrying emergency medical equipment will be the core of this project. They will be dispatched with an emergency medical team on board to pick up patientsimmediatelyproper emergency treatment.
Gyeonggi Province plans to build a more effective emergency rescue tem with cooperationsix trauma centers in the province that specialize in severe trauma cases.
2. Spring Flower Festivals

Wherever you turn, cherry trees are boasting their beauty along the way, bedecked with light pink flowers that bloomed with the arrival of spring. Familiesfriends are busy taking photographs to preserve memories of this beautiful day. The Cherry Blossom Festival at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Complexone of a number of popular spring flower events that attract many visitors annually.
There were also various exhibitionsa fire fighting experiential event held during this festival. It was an ideal place for children for both pleasureoutdoor education.
The Cherry Blossom Festival ran for three days until April 17th.
The yellow blossoms of Cornelian cherry trees brought spring to Icheon(이천) City. There are some 17,000 Cornelian cherry trees, many of them over a hundred years old, in Sansooyoo (산수유) Village in Icheon (이천) City, creating a spectacular panoramic view of yellowaround. The blossoms arrived several days late this year, but it was as breathtaking as usual when the color exploded, transforming the village into a frenzy of yellow.
There are also several other spring flower festivals in Gyeonggi Province including the Suwon Tulip Festival, which will open on April 30th along the banks of the Suwon Stream,the Grand Azalea Festival in Gunpo (군포) City.
3. Gyeonggi Aviation Camp

Prior to the opening of G-Global Aviation in Ansan, whichscheduled for early next month, the Gyeonggi Aviation Camp opened for young students on Saturdays. This camp was highly popular because it featured experiential opportunities including flights on board a light airplane.

Nervousnessanticipation are evident in the face of a boy when he boards the airplanetakes to the sky. He must be feeling as his dream of becoming a pilot has come true as he holds the control column. It was a short flight, but he will never forget the thrill of piloting an airplane.
After flying, children worked in a glider-making workshop. They could more easily understand how airplanes flymaking gliders themselves.
This Aviation Camp, which took place every SaturdayMarch 5th until April 23rd, consisted of flying a real airplaneparticipation with parents in an aviation classglider-making workshop
The popularity of this camp has been unexpectedly high. Space filled up in only half day after the receipt of applications began,additional registration periods also filled up in three hours.
By organizing this Aviation Camp, Gyeonggi Province aims to inspire aviation aspirations among children.
Aviation fever has already been ignitedthe Aviation Camp,enthusiasm will continue until G-Global Aviation in Ansan next month.
4. Employment Support for Technical High School Graduates

Youth unemploymenta chronic social problem,for technical high school graduates, finding employmenteven more challenging. To alleviate the difficulties facedthese students, Gyeonggi Province has organized special customized lectures on finding employment at large enterprises.

Students listen to the lecturer with such intensity that their eyes sparkle in earnest. Some are busy taking notes so asto miss any useful information. The fact that the classroomfilled to capacitystudents despite the inclement weather outside adds to the determined atmosphere.
This special lecture at the Suwon Information Science High School was organized to help technical high school students find employment at large enterprises.
This special lecture provided the graduatesseven technical high schools in Gyeonggi Province with information on the characteristics of large companiesguidance on effective job applications.
Gyeonggi Province also expects that this customized employment lecture program will promote the establishment of a firm identity among technical high schoolscontribute to the cultivation of quality human resources.
5. Paldang Water FreedRadiation Worries

While the radiation leakagethe Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Japan has become a major concern among consumers in Korea, water in the Paldang (팔당) water resource area was proven free of radioactivity.

The water of the Paldang (팔당) water resource area, whichthe source of water for residents in the capital region of Korea, was proven to be safewithout radioactive contamination.
The Paldang (팔당) Water Quality Improvement Headquarters submitted a request to the Korea Basic Science Institute for a radioactivity check of Paldang (팔당) water,announced that the test results showed a complete absence of cesium-134, cesium-137iodine-131, which are indicators of radioactive contamination
Apartthe safety tests on water supplies initiatedGyeonggi Province, the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety has also been conducting tests twice a week.
The results of the radioactivity tests on water supplies to households can be viewed on the homepage of the Ministry of Education, ScienceTechnology.
Gyeonggi Province will continue to monitor the water of Paldang (팔당) to ensure that water supplies to residents in the capital region are safe.
6. Certified Social Worker with a 1st Degree Disability

Her facegraced with a constant smile as she watches others who are eager to learnher how to work threads through beads.
Shea university graduate with a major in social welfaretheology. Shealso a licensed social workerart psychotherapist. Shenow working as a social worker at a welfare facility for individuals with disabilities.
She wasalone, though. Her mother supported heralong she enduredthe difficulties.
Go says that she feels rewarded when she sees those with disabilities strive to overcome difficultiesprejudice. Not for a single moment did she doubt that she could do it, she said. Sheliving proof that social prejudice against individuals with disabilitiesindeed a prejudice.
7. Record Holders in Gyeonggi Province

There were many awe-inspiring individuals such as the youngest professional hair dresser who passed the Hair Dresser Qualification Examination at the age of 9a dancer with a 3rd-degree disability whose lower bodyonly foura half inches long but can perform a fine traditional Korean dance using artificial limbs.
Gyeonggi Province presented Hope Sharing Certificates to 18 provincial residents, the best in Gyeonggi Province, who are record holders in their own right.
There are also individuals who deliver the message of hope to everyoneare proud to be residents of Gyeonggi Province.
