Gyeonggi Province induced foreign investments totaling USD694 million during the first half of this year. This achievement reaffirms the position of the province as an attractive investment location for foreign companies. However, some potential foreign investors are currently reluctant to invest in Gyeonggi Provincevoiced concerns regarding investment safety to a provincial delegation that visited Japan last month.
2) Presentation on Security to Foreign Investors at 3rd Army Headquarters (December 15th)
In order to dispelworries among foreign investors in the wake ofthe North Korean bombardment of Yeonpyeong(연평) Isalnd, Gyeonggi Province invited the CEOs of 20 foreign companies to a presentation on security at the 3rd Army Headquarters. Army officers explained security measuresthe state of military preparedness in the provinceanswered questions raisedthe CEOs.

5) Emergency ReliefGyeonggi Province
Gyeonggi Province has also donated an emergency relief fund of KRW500 million toYeonpyeong(연평) islanders who suffered losses due to the bombardment. The provincial government also plans to ensure the security ofthe residents of Paju(파주), Yeoncheon(연천), Pocheon(포천)other areas in the northern part of the province that are close to the borderis ready to take necessary actions in the event of an emergency.

This road was reconstructed asa wider 2-lane road, which runs 4.75 kilometers between Musong-dong(무송동) of Hwaseong(화성) City andYangno-ri(양노리), Bibong-myeon(비봉면).

Before the reconstruction, this road was too narrowcurvy for the convenience of both the 100 local residents as well as the more than 70 smallmedium-sized businesses along the road.

Special education on the Total Maximum Daily Load–or TMDL–tem for water contamination control has been provided to officials in related public offices for the past 4 months. The course officially endedwith a completion ceremony,the officials who are now armed with specialist knowledge are expected to realizeupgraded performances.

2) TMDL Education Course Completion Ceremony at Myeongji University (December 18th)

The Savings King Award went to a homeless individual who saved KRW22 million working as an automobile parts assembly worker for twoa half years withone of the project operators in Suwon.

“Having seen many street-bound homeless persons who lost connections with family, I thought I couldn’t go onthat.”
Earning a monthly wage of KRW 800,000 plus a share of profit, he has been saving KRW 700,000 every monthbecame an inspiration to other homelessindividuals.
