1. [Cartoonist Heo Young-man for Gyeonggi]
The 7th goodwill ambassador for Gyeonggi Province has been appointed. Itnone other than cartoonist Heo Young-man.

Gyeonggi Province has presented Heo with a sailboat shaped plaquea Yeoju moon jar. Heo will act as goodwill ambassador for the Gyeonggi International Boat ShowWorld Yacht Contest to be held in Gyeonggi this upcoming June.

Also, cartoonist Heo presented Provincial Governor Kim Mun-su with a caricature rendering of the governor

Heo will set sail at Baeknyeong-doafter traversing the eastsouth coasts will make his way to the Dokdo Islands.

The Gyeonggi seal has been engraved on Yachts. And Gyeonggi will keep us d about the trip around the coast, the international boat showWorld Yacht Contest on its blogin newspapers.

2. [Green Energy Developed! At GRRC…]

The Gyeonggi Regional Research Center has ed Dankook university`s solar energy research center as a GRRChas wasted no time introducing new research.

The Dankook University solar energy research institute will receive $6.8 million in a joint investmentGyeonggi Province, Yongin, Dankook University9 businesses as part of a joint investment to develop future solar energyother alternative energy materials.

Especially since GRRC has joined forces with Gyeonggi Province, collegesbusinessesonly for technical development, but for regional business development contributing to the creation of jobs has an even greater significance.

3. [Quality Growth through Green Growth]

Prime Minister Han Seung-su gave a speech titled `climate changegreen growth.`

4. [Work Together for an `Export Path`]

Export companies within the province are banding together amidst an export crisis due to the global slowdown.

On the 25th a meeting for export counseling was held.

The export counseling meeting was an opportunity to promote productsbroaden trade for companies in the province.

The responseoverseas buyers that purchase these products has been positive as well.

5. [Social Welfare Improvement Public Hearing]

With the worsening economy the social welfare fieldbecoming even more important. With more than 11 million residents, the burgeoning costs in Gyeonggi Province has risenmore than 20% over last year.

To improve this, Gyeonggi Provincethe Gyeonggi Welfare Foundation held a public hearing including proposals on how to handle the social welfare burden.

At the hearing one proposal insisted that welfare projects which are being runlocal autonomies should become supplemental projects under the national treasury.

Accordingly, to promote secure social welfare projects itnecessary to once more reclassifyreview the transfer of local projectssupplemental national treasury projects. It was pointed out that basic livelihood recipients, medical paymentsother equal guarantees of payments be made nationwide through supplementary national treasury projects.

The participants demanded that a balance be reached between the equality of the welfare finances between the centrallocal governments.

6. [Clean Korea, Green Korea] 3/25-3

Just in time for spring 2009 a nationwide spring cleaning day event was held on Daebu Island Ansan, Gyeonggi.

Under the theme of clean Korea, the green start movement had about 1100 attend this event including the Minister of the Environment, Ansan City officials, staffKOWACO, the Korea Rural Corporation, local civilian groupsothers.
