[7 Wins in National Sports Festival]
Gyeonggi province achieved its 7th consecutive victory in the National Sports Festival.
The 89th National Sports Festival, which started on October 10, held its finale in the Yeosu Jinam Sports Complex.
Gyeonggi has ranked first for seven consecutive years. This year it has acquired 434 medals, surpassing Seoul by 135.
October 17, the province held a ceremony of disbandment in the provincial office\’s playing field, attended by players, coaches, and other officials.
Regardless of the results, they encouraged every athlete for their effort and performance.

Nearby Paldang Lake, an oil car and a vehicle carrying toxic substances collide.
The fire truck extinguishes the fire, while survivors are rescued. The army\’s chemical forces remove toxic substances from the car and from the road.
To prevent the spread of oil on the water, a prevention ship swiftly installs an oil fence around the scene of the accident and begins to remove the oil.
Although this seems like an actual incident, it is prevention training in preparation for any accidental situation that might occur on Paldang lake.

Gyeonggi\’s famous cultural assets, such as Hwaseong, Seojangdae, and Namhansanseong Fortress have all been gathered in a book.
The title of this 300 page-long book is \”Learn about Gyeonggi.\” It includes information about Gyeonggi\’s various culture and history.

In particular, a detailed explanation on current restrictions on military facilities and greenbelts that Gyeonggi is facing, the cause and alternative measures are noticeable.

[Sharing joy and sorrow with the disabled]
In order to experience the difficulties the disabled have in their everyday lives, the governor and Gyeonggi residents participated in a one-day disability experience.
On October 16, the blind people\’s tournament was held in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi, in memory of the 29th White Stick Day.
Starting with each city and county in the province, cultural events such as singing and playing Yutnori were held. And all around participants smiling faces could be seen.

Meanwhile, on October 17, Governor Kim and about 200 residents gathered in Osan to experience what a disability would be like.
Governor Kim got on the bus while sitting on a wheelchair. He also promised to make improvements where there were inconveniences.

We wish that these events will allow improvements to be made in the welfare and rights of disabled persons and to help people to learn, care and become more aware about the difficulties they face.
