Gyeonggi Province, the organizer of an autonomous shuttle demonstration running from the entrance of Pangyo Zero City to Pangyo Station in December, will hold the world’s first autonomous motor show featuring autonomous cars in November.
The 2017 Pangyo Autonomous Motor Show (PAMS 2017) will be held at the Corporate Support Hub in Pangyo Zero City from November 16 to 18.
The motor show will begin with an opening event that will reveal, for the first time, an autonomous shuttle bus that has been developed and produced by Gyeonggi Province. The event will then proceed with a focus on various events related to autonomous vehicles, an industrial exposition for promoting the autonomous vehicle industry, an international forum, and more.
During the event, which is slated to be held in the outdoor event area of the Corporate Support Hub, there will be a synchronized driving show where people can view autonomous vehicles being driven in sync with music, and an autonomous vehicle test-drive event in which people can test drive domestic autonomous vehicles.
Attention is being focused on the ‘autonomous car vs. human’ competition, which will involve various driving tasks for novice drivers, drivers with at least 5 years of driving experience, car racers who have been selected through prior entries, and autonomous cars.
The competition will consist of a 600-700m course along which 4 cars will simultaneously drive while completing missions such as avoiding falling objects, passing through complex obstacles, detecting construction signs/pedestrians, staying within the speed limit and making U-turns.
Domestic and global autonomous car and IT corporations will be participating in the industrial exposition, which will be held on the 1st floor of the Corporate Support Hub. The expo will present various related technologies such as autonomous cars, GPS, V2X (wireless communication between vehicles) and artificial intelligence.
Domestic and global experts will join an international forum, which will be held on the 3rd floor of the Corporate Support Hub. The forum will be themed around the 4th Industrial Revolution Era and autonomous vehicle ecosystems.
Pangyo Zero City is a future-oriented city and advanced industrial complex; it features no extraneous regulations or costs, and strives to ensure “zero” environmental pollution/carbon emissions, “zero” excessive energy consumption and “zero” accidents/missing children. Autonomous vehicles are among its core projects.
For this project, Gyeonggi Province plans to produce and demonstrate an autonomous shuttle that runs from Pangyo Zero City to Pangyo Station.
