Gyeonggi Province English Website Wins Top Prize at Web Award Korea 2017

Gyeonggi Province’s official website (www.gg.go.kr) received two awards at Web Award Korea 2017, which is considered one of Korea’s most acclaimed website award events.

Two of the province’s websites, one in Korean (www.gg.go.kr) and one in English (English.gg.go.kr), have been respectively awarded the Grand Prize for local self-governing and the Top Prize for global services. The awards were announced by the Korea Internet Professional Association at a ceremony held in the Crystal Ballroom of Lotte Hotel & Resorts World on December 14.

The award-winning Korean website has been praised for its convenient and optimized user interface, which underwent recent updates to its design and navigation structure.

The design updates in June were intended to revamp the structure and categories of the main page so as to give users easier access to desired information. This, in fact, drew positive reviews from local residents.

Meanwhile, the English website was recognized for a symmetrical layout suitable for mobiles and images, as well as for typography representing the province.

Web Award Korea is an event at which awards recognizing excellence in domestic websites are presented by an evaluation panel consisting of 3,000 domestic web experts as well as 50 incumbent internet experts and professionals. The annual presentation ceremony is regarded as one of the most prestigious for web awards in Korea.
