On the occasion of the Chuseok holidays, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi agroFood Institute are holding special sales on agricultural and regional products produced in the province through online and offline stores in an effort to expand the sales channels and increase the revenues of local farms.

The institute has created a catalogue of over 180 gift sets manufactured by 77 companies that hold G Mark and Sixth Industry certification, and has distributed it online and by mail on August 30.

The gift sets are composed of various agricultural and regional products that are most popular during the holidays such as livestock products, fruits, songpyeon (half-moon-shaped rice cakes), traditional sweets, and red ginseng. They are sold at prices that are up to 40 percent lower than market prices.
Over 80 percent of all catalogued items are priced at less than KRW 50,000 for those consumers who are searching for ideal options in terms of holiday gifts.

The gift sets can be purchased via mobile and online channels. The catalogue can be viewed on the Institute’s official website (http://e.kgfarm.co.kr/2018chuseok) or by scanning the QR code on the paper catalogue.

In addition, the online G Mark Hall on the Post Office Shopping Mall offers a 20 percent discount on Korean beef and pine nuts produced in the Gyeonggi Province, and Pureun Market, the Korean National Forestry Cooperative Federation’s online store, is also holding special sales on Chuseok gifts and various promotional events.

A variety of offline events have also been organized. For nine days from September 15 to 23, the G Mark Halls in the Nonghyup Hanaro Mart branches of Suwon, Goyang and Seongnam are holding promotional events for G Mark products. Various local specialties and G Mark-certified agricultural product gift sets will be on sale at the events, and a total of 63 consumers who have purchased items on the spot will be given gifts such as traditional sauces, bellflower root juice, pickled vegetables, pine nuts cultivated in Gapyeong, and Chamgusu tea sets. Other activities, such as Yunnori, will also be organized in the G Mark Halls on the weekend, during which Nurungji, rice noodles, Yugwa and other prizes will be offered to a total of 2,400 people.

The Gyeonggi Sixth Industry Antenna Shop in the Goyang branch of Nonghyup Hanaro Mart is also holding a special sale on seven superior items manufactured by Gyeonggi Sixth Industry certification holders (i.e. chestnut tree honey, Gapyeong pine nuts, bellflower root marmalade, omija marmalade, pear juice, apple juice and balsam pear juice). Up to 600 product units will be provided at a maximum discount rate of 50 percent until September 21. In addition, consumers who purchase products worth more than KRW 30,000 in total will be given a bottle of kitchen detergent as a gift.
