– Personnel pledged to refrain from pursuing private interests and to prevent conflicts of interest that may arise in the performance of their duties.
– By operating the “Integrity Office,” the Foundation plans to monitor workplace anti-corruption and integrity while raising integrity awareness.
Prior to the enforcement of the Act on the Prevention of Conflict of Interest Related to Duties of Public Servants on May 19, the Gyeonggido Job Foundation held a personnel pledge ceremony for the prevention of conflict of interest at its main office in Bucheon City on May 2.
At the ceremony, Foundation personnel gathered and pledged to refrain from pursuing private interests that may affect the fair performance of their public duties. The purpose of the event was the promotion of social integrity through the prevention of conflicts of interest that could occur in the course of performing official duties.
Starting with the ceremony, the Foundation plans to implement a number of anti-corruption and integrity policies for the prevention of conflicts of interest in line with the enforcement of the relevant law. For instance, it will launch the “Integrity Office” that visits its headquarters semiannually in May and October with the aim of monitoring activities so as to prevent conflicts of interest in the workplace, raising awareness of integrity among personnel through Q&A sessions and promoting integrity in daily life throughout the organization.
Lee Shin-deok, head of the Integrity Audit Team, stated, “There is a growing expectation among provincial residents for anti-corruption and integrity in the public sector so as to address abuses of power and conflicts of interest.” He also added, “We will do our utmost as a public institution to proactively implement the law by strengthening anti-corruption and integrity policies.”
The Gyeonggido Job Foundation received the highest evaluation grade in the 2021 Integrity Assessment of Gyeonggi Public Institutions for its organization-wide efforts to promote anti-corruption and integrity.
