Gyeonggi Province will host the “Exciting Winter Snow Playground” in Gyeonggi Peace Plaza at its northern provincial government complex for families to enjoy together in winter. This event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from December 20 to January 21, 2024.
At the festival venue, snow play gardens and indoor curling courses will be featured every day, with skating rinks and traditional game centers available for experiential programs on weekdays, as well as face painting on weekends.
The skating rink is open for four 90-minute periods a day between 10 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. The admission fee is KRW 1,000 per period, and equipment rental (skates) costs KRW 1,000 per period. Children over the age of 5 can use the rink with a guardian.
Additional programs include a snow playground (snow castle flag game, snowman building, plastic sledding) and an indoor curling experience in the rest area so that Gyeonggi residents of all ages can enjoy a variety of experiences.
On weekdays, you can enjoy traditional games such as Jegichagi (shuttlecock kicking) and Tuho (arrow throwing), and face painting events are scheduled on weekends. The admission fee for the program is KRW 1,000, and it is free for those aged 65 or older and under 24 months. For safety reasons, gloves are required for admission.
Lee Tae-jin, Director of the Administration Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, “For the winter season, we have prepared a variety of programs for Gyeonggi residents to enjoy safely. We hope to help create unforgettable winter memories through the Exciting Winter Snow Playground event and the ongoing Gyeonggi Peace Plaza Light Exhibition.”
